Here at Curious Mind Psychology we charge $200 per 50 minute consultation, which is significantly less than The Australian Psychological Society recommended fee of $93.35 for a consultation with a psychologist. If you are a health care card holder, you are eligible for a reduced rate of $190 per session. You may be eligible for a rebate against the cost of a session.
Private Health Insurance Rebates
Private health insurance rebates and the number of sessions you are eligible to cliam for will vary depending on your level of cover, please contact your provider to confirm your coverage.
If you have been referred by your GP under a mental health care plan, you are eligible to claim a rebate of $93.35 per session.
This makes your out of pocket cost $106.65 for a consultation. Medicare provide rebates for up to 20 sessions per calendar year, at the discretion of your GP.
TAC and Workcover consultations are generally covered by these respective agencies, following approval.
If you have been referred to see a psychologist under these schemes, please provide a copy of your treatment approval paperwork prior to your scheduled session.
We have a 48 hour cancellation and rescheduling policy. This means that to cancel or reschedule your appointment we require 48 hours notice via phone or email prior to your scheduled session time. This gives us time to offer your appointment to other clients. If you cancel or change your appointment time less than 48 hours prior to your appointment, you will be charged 75% of the fee for your session. Medicare and private health insurers do not provide rebates for cancelled or missed sessions.
